LOCK HAVEN — The Ross Library is proud to present its March exhibit in the Edyth Hoy Bossert Gallery, showcasing a vibrant collection of handmade items created by members of the Library’s Crafter Hours group.
Visitors to the gallery will find a wide variety of handcrafted pieces, including crocheted and knitted clothing, blankets, quilts, scarves, cowls, crocheted stuffed animals, phone holders, fabric bags and totes, embellished mirrors, wall hangings, fabric collages, cross stitch, latch hook pieces, felt and fabric wall hangings, scherenschnitte (traditional paper cutting) and sashiko (Japanese embroidery).
The display highlights the creativity and craftsmanship of local makers and the many different types of fiber and textile arts practiced within the group.
All items in the exhibit were made by Crafter Hours participants Faith, Abby, Becky, Rebecca, Deanna, Sue, Justin, Theresa, Sierra, Kayla, Tami and Rebecca.
Crafter Hours meets at the Ross Library on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Led by the library’s incredibly talented resident librarian and artist, Mel Kownacki, the group provides a relaxed, social environment where participants can bring any craft project they are working on and enjoy creating alongside fellow crafters. There are no formal lessons or demonstrations, just a welcoming space to share ideas, work on projects and enjoy light snacks and drinks together.
