CENTRE HALL — The 19th annual Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festival, the largest bluegrass festival east of the Mississippi, will return to the Centre Hall Grange Fairgrounds from June 24-28.

The festival will feature five full days of performances by national, regional and local artists, headlined by the Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage.

One of Pennsylvania’s longest running family-friendly bluegrass festivals, the event will feature nearly 20 bands as well as workshops, youth programs, auctions, crafts, merchandise and concessions.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 24, from 3-10 p.m., with performances by Dave Adkins & Mountain Soul, Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass and Ironwood Drive.

From Thursday through Saturday, bands will perform from noon to 10:30 p.m. On Thursday, Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys will kick off the day, followed by the Lonesome River Band, Lorraine Jordan’s Country Grass, Fast Track and the Kody Norris Show.

Friday, Little Roy & Lizzy Show, Country Gentlemen Tribute, Larry Efaw & The Bluegrass Mountaineers and Nothin’ Fancy will perform before Lorraine Jordan returns to the stage with Carolina Road.

Saturday, headliner Rhonda Vincent & The Rage will take the stage alongside Larry Efaw, who returns with the Bluegrass Mountaineers; the Junior Sisk Band; Remington Ryde; and Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run.

The festival winds down on Sunday, June 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with an open gospel sing, church service and gospel show led by the Billy Lee Cox Project.

When not listening to music, attendees can visit food and craft vendors or attend instructional workshops. Younger festivalgoers can also participate in the kids camp.

There will also be a special blast from the past. A sit-in theater will be held Tuesday at dusk featuring hours of video clips from the 1980s and 1990s with Ralph Stanley, the Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jessie, the Lewis Family, Bill Monroe and more.

Organizers suggest attendees bring chairs. Golf carts are welcome and can also be rented on site. Shade tents, shower facilities and public restrooms will be available throughout the festival.

Pets are welcome at no charge, but open fires and propane or electric grills are prohibited.

The festival has 1,500 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are required. Prices range from $35 to $45 per night, with tent camping at the lower end and camper sites at the higher end.

Additionally, the Wyndham Garden, 310 Elks Club Road in Boalsburg, will offer special rates for festival attendees. Guests should mention the “bluegrass rate” when booking to qualify.

Gate admission varies by date. A five-day pass costs $100 per person, a savings of $90 for those attending the entire week. Daily admission is $35 on Wednesday, $45 Thursday through Saturday and $20 on Sunday. Children under 12 are admitted free with a paid adult.

The festival grounds are located at Grange Park, 169 Homan Lane, Centre Hall. Attendees should enter through Gate 4 off Route 45.
