Bellefonte Community Band returns to Triangle Park this Friday

LOCK HAVEN -- This Friday, July 17, the Bellefonte Community Band returns to Triangle Park, from 6-8 p.m. as part of the Lock Haven Summer Concert Series.
Founded by Lawrence Acker in 1983, the Bellefonte Community Band has been a staple in the region, sharing their love of music and having fun while doing so. They are a volunteer group consisting of over 65 dedicated musicians of all ages from the surrounding Bellefonte and State College communities.
Meg Pedlow Smith began directing the Bellefonte Community Band in the fall of 2018.
She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Music Education, Musicology and Conducting. For eight years prior to returning to Central Pa., Meg served as a musician in the United States Navy, performing on clarinet and saxophone at duty stations in Virginia, Rhode Island and Italy. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Arts at Ohio University. The band performs in about 15 concerts a year, in venues as diverse as the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, South Hills School of Business, Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair, Centre Crest, Talleyrand Park and many more.
The Bellefonte Community Band plays a variety of music from traditional ("Stars and Stripes Forever") to modern (selections from "Frozen" and "Pirates of the Caribbean"). So, whether you are playing in the band or a member of the audience, there is something for everyone!
The rain location will be the Susquehanna Events Center, 216 E. Main St. Check our website for updates regarding the location, if necessary.
The public is invited to attend this free summer concert. There is no seating for this event, so the public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
