LH Jams takes over the Summer Concerts this Friday and Saturday

4 min read

LOCK HAVEN -- This weekend, LH Jams is bringing music to Main Street, with two full days of music and festivities.

Friday evening, the Summer Concert Series is partnering with LH Jams as they bring Ted McCloskey & the Hi-Fis, and Velveeta back to Main Street.

Ted McCloskey & the Hi-fis will begin at 6, with Velveeta starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday there will be music all day, with the final concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. with EpicSoul.

A long time Central PA favorite, Ted McCloskey is the dynamic frontman of Ted McCloskey & the Hi-Fis, who blend rock n' roll with their signature sound, "Raunch and Roll."

Deeply connected to State College, Ted has been telling compelling stories to local and national audiences for years. He is a singer/songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist, a producer and film composer. He has sixteen records to his name alone. His music has been featured on hundreds of network and cable programs and he's shared the stage with the likes of Jason Isbell, Ryan Adams and Alejandro Escovedo.

Velveeta will continue to spread the cheese again this year on Main Street with 80s and 90s hits. One of the most popular Central PA party bands, Velveeta will rock downtown with covers from Journey, the Cars, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, Neil Diamond, Guns 'N Roses, Tom Petty, U2 plus many many more. Last year was the first time for the Block Party and it was truly an awesome atmosphere with people of all ages singing and dancing from the opening song to the encore performance.

One of area's most popular 'high energy' bands, Velveeta was formed in the summer of 1995 with a tongue in cheek approach to the finest in cheesy 80s music. Over the decades, Velveeta has honed their skills into one of the most entertaining and talented cover bands in the Northeast specializing in music from the golden age of MTV and music videos.

Although they consider themselves entertainers instead of artists, their exceptional musical talents cannot be denied. Through the years, the band has expanded its repertoire, but the majority of their set-list is still music from the 1980s; from Cyndi Lauper and Billy Idol to Duran Duran and the B-52s, from Journey and the CARS to Joan Jett and Guns N' Roses. Velveeta has performed at Steelers games at Heinz Field along with the pre-game festivities outside Beaver Stadium and Penn State's THON.

EPICSOUL has a core group of dedicated musicians who perform over 60 dates a year together. This dedicated group, featuring members of the Chop Horns, offers a truly unique and sophisticated entertainment experience. Chop Horns served as the horn section for The Police's "Ghost In The Machine -- World Tour," worked on The Rolling Stones' "Undercover," Bob Dylan's "Empire Burlesque," Public Enemy's "Muse Sick-N-Hour Mess Age," Christina Aguilera's "Stripped," Alicia Key's "Diary Of Alicia Keys," "Unplugged" and "As I Am," Mariah Carey's "Emancipation Of Mimi" and on the soundtrack of the movie "Glory Road."

From soul-stirring Motown medleys, to today's R&B, pop, rock and contemporary hits, EPICSOUL rolls from one song to another that will keep the LH JAMS DANCIN' IN THE STREET party going late into the evening. EPICSOUL will entertain you with ballads from artists like Frank Sinatra, Etta James and Van Morrison as well as Santana, Bruno Mars, Sister Sledge, Patti Labelle, Bonjovi, Amy Winehouse, Kool and the Gang and many more.

Every member of the EPICSOUL Band brings a bit of their own unique style and talent to our performances. With decades of professional experience as recording artists, composers and arrangers, some of our musicians have recorded and/or toured with international and domestic recording artists including Alicia Keys, Gloria Gaynor, Mariah Carey, Chaka Kahn, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony and South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
