KCSD art teacher to exhibit work in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT -- Keystone Central School District art teacher, Jenn Wilson, will have a large collection of works on display during September and October at The Tria Prima Tea Company in Williamsport.

Located in downtown Williamsport, The Tria Prima is a small-batch tea and bake shop offering a diverse selection of seasonal herbs, freshly prepared treats and organic teas. The Tria Prima is located at 6 W. 4th St. Hours are Wednesdays-Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free, kid-friendly and open to the public.

The opening reception will be on Friday, Sept. 4, from 6-8 p.m., which is also the artist's 50th birthday.

The opening reception on Sept. 4 is part of Lycoming Arts' First Fridays.

On the First Friday of every month, businesses in downtown Williamsport keep their doors open late to host local artists, bands and art events of all kinds. The goal of First Friday is to celebrate the arts while promoting local artists and fostering Williamsport's reputation as the Northern Tier's regional cultural center.

First Friday imbues Williamsport with the joy and beauty of the arts.

Wilson will have 30 small drawings and paintings on display, as well as prints of artworks, all of which are for sale.

Wilson hopes to raise money to supplement funds to purchase special art materials for her many students.

Wilson has been teaching art in the KCSD for nearly 20 years. She has previously taught art to students who attended Liberty-Curtin, Renovo, Woodward, Robb and the former Lamar Township elementary schools.

Currently, Jenn teaches art at Mill Hall Elementary and Central Mountain Middle School. Although best known to her many students at Mrs. Wilson, Jenn uses JE Crum as her artist's surname when showing her artwork.
