MUNCY -- Beginning on Friday, Oct. 9 through Sunday evening, Oct. 11, the Susquehanna Film Festival will return to the District Cinema theaters in Muncy, to present 36 regional and global films on three screens at this multi-plex theater with a state-of-the-art sound and projection system.
This year's number of films has increased by four since last year's inaugural festival and will again feature diverse film categories including best Pennsylvania made film, best short, best student film, best documentary film, best foreign film, best drama, best comedy, best horror film, with an awards presentation ceremony concluding the festival on Sunday evening.
"We are so grateful to the District Cinema Theater for inviting us back again this year and to all the amazing filmmakers who wanted to be a part of our 2nd year together. We're particularly enthused about the 11 inspiring films this year from right here in Pennsylvania, from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Williamsport, Scranton, Harrisburg, Millersville, Elizabethtown, Lewisburg, Lancaster, Kingston, Carnegie, the Lehigh Valley as well as some beautifully shot films with incredible landscapes from the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Latin America," says Susquehanna Film Festival founder Tim Yasui. "I really encourage folks to come out and enjoy them together with a live audience on the big screens at the District Cinema Theater, the way the filmmakers intended to share their art with us -- you won't regret the experience that you can share with your friends and family, along with the filmmakers who might literally be sitting next to you in the theater!"
District Cinema General Manager Jordan Musheno shared in Yasui's excitement.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Tim Yasui and the Susquehanna Film Festival back to the District Cinema this year, where audiences will be able to celebrate and explore an incredible variety of films that span every budget, every genre and walk of life," Musheno said.
