LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Arts Council is welcoming back one of its beloved exhibits, Ekphrastic, with an opening reception this Friday at 6 p.m. at The Station Gallery, 2 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven.
According to CCAC Board Member Carol Cillo, the event will feature poetry readings and artist talks about their work.
"This is one of the most inspiring and connective experiences for the arts in combination at our Station Gallery," Cillo said.
Invited poets and artists have shared works with each other, and over the summer have been given the task of inspiration from another artist.
"They take the work and create something brand new from the inspiration and vision they see in that other person's creation," Cillo explained.
The artists will come together on Friday night to share how they translated those visions.
"All new artworks and poems are a complete surprise until this Friday night," Cillo said. "It is emotional, meaningful, inspirational and just a fun night filled with the fruits of the arts."
The reception is open to the public. There will be talks all evening, but feel free to walk in and join CCAC members after you have enjoyed a meal downtown, or were looking for a relaxing evening on Friday.
Artists included in this exhibit include: Anni Matsick; Deb Mezick; Chuck Fong; Rita Bower; Victoria Stetts; Karen Elias; Donna Britton; Janet Sherman; Becky Wall; Ric Jones; Holly Patton-Skull; Jackie Thomas and Carol Cillo.
Poets included in the exhibit are: Anthony Lalota; Jared Conti; Jim Colbert; Ryan Rose; Dana Ciccilot; Ted Frobes; Shanna Powlus Wheeler; Maria Stout; Marjorie Maddox Hafer; Alethis Haines; and Aiden Gseidele.
