MILL HALL -- The members of the Central Mountain High School Drama Club, sponsored by Toner Auto Parts are ready to welcome you back for their 2026/2027 season with their poignant Fall production of Radium Girls by D.W. Gregory.

In the 1920s, Radium was all the rage and it was being used everywhere for everything. It was in beauty products to give its users a ‘youthful’ glow. The glowing paint developed by Dr. VonSochocky was used on everything from light switches, to watch dials, to fishing lures. Perhaps most famously, Marie Curie led the campaign of doctors declaring it a cure all for cancer but it didn’t stop there. Companies began selling productions like Radithor – a Radium water drink touted for every day use for ailments from arthritis, to high blood pressure -- companies like the U.S. Radium Corporation. Who could have known the dangers? Or perhaps a better question -- who should have known?

Radium Girls is a compelling and deeply human drama set during a pivotal moment of American history that explores the true story of the young women who worked as dial watch painters whose determination and courage helped lead a legal battle against the U.S. Radium Corporation and reshape conversations around workers' rights and industrial safety

The cast, led by Kathryn Farrall as Grace Fryer fighting for justice and Zion McElroy as Arthur Roeder, fighting between financial duty and his own morals, includes Sarah Long, James Turner, Claire Walker, Amelya Sox, Andrew Wolfe, Myah Slota, Conner Gray, Zeke Condo, Claire Stein, Devin Zanella, Lexie Bowman, Brooklyn Goldy, Kenzi Boyle, Sam Embick, Hannah Johnson, and Lilith Page.

"History has always influenced our productions, but getting to perform this story has truly been another experience altogether." Says club Vice President McElroy, "I believe this story can impact anyone, no matter their knowledge of what really happened back then. We have put so much work into this production and I truly hope we did these girls’ stories justice."

Backstage is led by Ella Hamilton, supported by Autumn Guerriero, J.J. Hamilton, Lydia Lehman, and Cora Svec. Mason Hall and Tucker Taylor hold down the tech booth.
