LOCK HAVEN -- In 1996, George M. Sadka, MD, opened a practice here in Lock Haven, specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the eye. Later that year, Stefano R. Carpenetti, DO, joined him. Both doctors are board certified ophthalmologists who specialize in cataract and implant surgery. In 2011, Dr. Melissa Randecker joined the practice as an optometrist seeing patients for routine eye exams, eyeglasses and contacts.

Now that UPMC Lock Haven Hospital has transitioned to an emergency department, the surgeons announced that while their office will remain in Lock Haven, they will begin performing surgery at UPMC Muncy. Muncy has a highly trained staff of registered nurses and surgical technicians with many years' experience in taking care of patients having eye surgery.
