New River Valley Health & Dental president and CEO named

Max Houseknecht to lead following James Yoxtheimer’s retirement

WILLIAMSPORT -- River Valley Health & Dental (River Valley), recently announced the selection of Max Houseknecht, Jr. to lead its organization effective Feb. 15.

Houseknecht was named President and CEO, by the Board of Directors after a national search effort was completed following the announced retirement of existing CEO James Yoxtheimer.

Houseknecht joined River Valley Health & Dental Center in 2012. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Management Information Systems & Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2008). He completed a master's in business administration at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts in 2019. He is also a 2017 Leadership Lycoming graduate and has been an active volunteer serving on various committees for that organization including most recently their Operating Committee (2018-2022).

Since 2017, Houseknecht has served as the Chief Financial Officer for River Valley with significant additional responsibility for facilities and Information Technology. He was instrumental in the establishment and operation of River Valley's pharmacy and had oversight of marketing and advocacy efforts to support the growth of the facility.
