With today's technology, entrepreneurship can be undertaken right here in Clinton County, in your home or office...and at a much lower cost than in metropolitan areas! There is no longer a need to leave the area to find success in business.
Similarly, social entrepreneurship in the non-profit sector requires people to call on many skills, including business. For example, it would be very typical for someone working within the criminal law system to be responsible for budgets and financial planning.
People must also master bargaining tactics in order to navigate the business swamp, or to even propose marriage! The art of negotiation is not confined to the business world but extends much further than simply buying and selling things.
The business person must think "outside of the box" and discover unconventional talents and skills. Whether one is thinking about entering the business world or already operating a small business, it is important to study the science and practice the art of operating a company.
Moreover, one must decide if they wish to serve a large company in a salaried position in hopes of long-term employment and commensurate benefits or whether one decides to assume higher risk in order to control their destiny.
