Caprio named general manager at Fox’s Market House Restaurant
LOCK HAVEN — Morgan Caprio, formerly of Colorado, returned to Lock Haven and recently assumed the role of general manager at Fox’s Market House Restaurant.
Morgan has been employed at several area restaurants. She is intimately familiar with the food service industry to assure guests of a gratifying experience.
Morgan resides in the area with her family, including three-year-old Sienna.
Fox’s Market House Restaurant was constructed within the old Lock Haven Market House building (c.1871), on the corner of East Church Street and North Grove Street, by entrepreneur Stephen Poorman, who supports the operation today.
Once scheduled for demolition, the old building was restored by Poorman and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Under the building there are dark tunnels and 22 rooms. In yesteryears, feed and grain was lifted from the rooms and on to waiting wagons. Poorman commissioned local photographer Franka Calabrese to light the rooms with candles for a time-release photograph that hangs on the restaurant wall.
Fox’s is fortunate to gain Morgan’s experience, and President Matthew Clark is making improvements to the building and timeliness of service.
Chef Clark, with decades of culinary experience beginning at the Clinton County Country Club, insists on the freshest local ingredients served in a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for special occasions or a relaxed night out.
Poorman’s focus is to maintain the historical significance of the property.
Most recently, he purchased a 1929 Oldsmobile Coupe that he refers to as the “Kids Kar.” He believes the restaurant should be enjoyable for everyone, especially the young.
You are invited to step into history, meet Morgan and experience great food at reasonable prices.
