FLEMINGTON — Though it’s been a few weeks since it officially opened its door for a soft opening, officials from Flemington Borough Council and others welcomed Taco Bell to the municipality with a recent ribbon cutting ceremony.
Borough Mayor Gary Durkin welcomed those who attended the ceremony, highlighting the changes the property at 559 High St. has seen over the years.
“We feel Taco Bell is a great asset to the borough… not to mention the good food,” Durkin said.
Durkin thanked Taco Bell and its employees and team for working hard to make this dream — one which many in the county hoped would come for years — to become a reality.
“This business is not only creating jobs but it’s continuing a new outlook for Flemington Borough,” he said of the economic growth it would bring to the area.
Council Member Wayne Allison gave a shoutout to borough employees, Secretary/Treasurer Charity Walizer-Etters, Public Works Foreman Bill Brungard and Public Works employee Kollin Wheeler for their work in bringing the project to the area.
“They are gold star employees,” Allison said.
Following these speeches, Hill and Taco Bell Manager Stephanie Reeder cut the ribbon to signify the official welcome to the borough.
Other officials in attendance included Council members Stephen Hoy, David Grimm, Ed Higgins and Traci Kuntz; State Representative Stephanie Borowicz; and Clinton County Commissioners Jim Russo, Jeff Snyder and Angela Harding, all of which offered their congratulations to Taco Bell’s team and the borough for bringing economic development to the area.
