LOCK HAVEN — Owned and operated by the Fleming family, Fleming’s Mercantile Eatery, located at 8 Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven has quickly become a local favorite by combining classic comfort food with a welcoming, small-town atmosphere.

Known for its hearty burgers, stacked sandwiches and hand-dipped ice cream, Fleming’s offers a menu that appeals to families, working professionals and visitors alike.

After temporarily closing Creek Unique Candles just a few doors down, Harold, his wife Becky and their two sons decided to combine the eatery with their retail space, opening Fleming’s Mercantile Eatery.

“At the heart of our business is family,” said co-owner Harold Fleming. “We wanted to create a space where people could enjoy great food and feel right at home.”

The menu created by the owners reflects that philosophy as each meal is made to order, offering fresh ingredients and generous portions.

In keeping with its mercantile roots, the business features a curated retail space showcasing handmade candles and handcrafted goods created by talented local artists.

From hand poured scented candles to dry goods and specialty foods, the shop provides customers with the opportunity to support local talent while enjoying a meal.

“We do our best to make people feel comfortable, and I wouldn’t change that,” said Fleming

This blend of food service and local retail has created a distinctive business model — one that strengthens community ties while diversifying revenue streams.
