Spring job fair in Centre County draws strong attendance, community support

STATE COLLEGE — PA CareerLink Centre County, in partnership with the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County (CBICC), Centre County Government, and the State College Borough, successfully hosted its second annual joint Spring Job Fair, bringing together employers, job seekers and community leaders for a highly engaging and impactful event.

The career fair welcomed over 250 job seekers and over 115 registered businesses and organizations, representing a wide range of industries. Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with hiring employers, explore career pathways, and take meaningful steps toward employment.

The event also received strong support from local and state leadership, including Pennsylvania State Representative Paul Takac, Marc Long from the office of Pennsylvania State Senator Chris Dush and Centre County Commissioner Mark Higgins. Their presence underscored the importance of workforce development initiatives and the continued commitment to strengthening connections between local talent and employers.

This year’s event built on the success of the inaugural joint job fair, further expanding its reach and impact. The atmosphere was highly interactive and engaging, with employers and job seekers expressing strong satisfaction and appreciation for the opportunity to connect face-to-face. Many participants noted the value of networking, real-time conversations and the ability to explore multiple career opportunities in one location.

“This event continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration in our region,” said Greg Scott, President and CEO of CBICC. “By working together, we are creating meaningful opportunities for both job seekers and employers while supporting long-term workforce development.”

“Strong partnerships like this are what make workforce development successful,” said Erica Mulberger, Executive Director of Advance Central PA, our region’s Local Workforce Development Board. “When employers, community organizations and workforce partners come together, we create real opportunities for individuals to find meaningful careers and for businesses to build the talent pipeline they need.”

PA CareerLink remains committed to connecting individuals with employment opportunities and helping businesses meet their workforce needs. Events like the Centre County Spring Job Fair highlight the success of these efforts and the value of strong community partnerships.
