An advertising campaign on social media continues to help attract people to Clinton County.

The Clinton County Visitors Bureau, the tourist promotion arm of the Clinton County Economic Partnership, initiated the marketing campaign at the beginning of the year and is running paid advertisements each month on Facebook, targeting people in and around 14 different cities, encouraging them to “Explore Clinton County, PA.” The call-to-action tag line coincides with the Visitors Bureau’s own social media pages, which include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

“Most of the ads highlight Clinton County’s wide open, fun and safe spaces,” says Tourism Director Julie Brennan.

“It lets people know that if they want to get into the outdoors, this should be a location to consider.”

In the first six months of the promotional campaign, the paid ads reached nearly a million people, and total ad impressions exceeded 2.5 million.

In addition, more than 27,000 people clicked on one of the advertisements to get to the Clinton County Visitors Bureau website, www.ClintonCountyInfo.com for additional information on the area.

“This campaign has been our first venture into paid advertising on social media, and we’ve been amazed and excited by the response,” notes Brennan. “Partnership member Cross Life Ventures has been supporting our effort — they’re experts when it comes to social media and how to get the biggest bang for your advertising and promotion buck.”

Brennan says the top cities with the highest reach and clicks on links for the paid ads are New York, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Baltimore.
