MILL HALL — The Animal Medical Center of Nittany Valley has announced that Lance Kramer, VMD has been hired as an associate veterinarian beginning July 1.
Dr. Kramer is a 2017 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He has been employed by Big Valley Animal Hospital in Reedsville, PA since that time.
A native of Mill Hall and a 2007 graduate of Central Mountain High School, Dr. Kramer earned an associate’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, before transferring to the Pennsylvania State University where he completed his degree in animal science.
While attending PSU, Lance served as a veterinary assistant at the AMC of Nittany Valley. During his clinical rotations at the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to AMC to complete an externship under the tutelage of Dr. Christina Livingston. “Lance demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for veterinary medicine, not only in the art of diagnosis, but also in the technique of tissue handling,” she said. “He is perceptive and gentle with his patients. He will be a true asset to the practice.”
“Dr. Lance”, as he calls himself, has worked with most of the practice staff members in the past, but simply in a different capacity. “At the office meeting when I announced that he’d be joining us as a doctor, the staff literally cheered!” said Dr. Livingston, who expects this comradery to continue.
Dr. Kramer is excited for the opportunity to work as part of the clinic’s compassionate and talented team, “I’ve seen first-hand the excellent quality of care provided at the Animal Medical Center and I am committed to continuing to provide high quality veterinary care to our community.”
Dr. Kramer is married to Anna (Antram) Kramer, also a 2007 graduate of Central Mountain High School. They are the proud parents of a 10-month-old daughter, Leah. Additional family members include a mini dachshund, Petey, and a Bischon-mix, Brinn.
As an avid outdoorsman, Dr. Kramer enjoys hiking, hunting and traveling. His family property in Rote keeps him busy with tending to the many fruit trees planted there.
With the addition of Dr. Kramer to the veterinary staff, the Animal Medical Center of Nittany Valley is offering expanded office hours, additional surgery days, and Saturday morning appointments. Call 570-726-7070 for additional information.
