LHU English professor garners national recognition for books
LOCK HAVEN — Marjorie Maddox Hafer (pen: Marjorie Maddox), professor of English and creative writing at Lock Haven University and a resident of Williamsport, recently received national recognition for one previously published book and one circulating book manuscript.
Her collection “Transplant, Transport, Transubstantiation” (Wipf and Stock, 2018) was named a finalist in the Philip H. McMath Post Publication National Book Award, sponsored by the University of Central Arkansas and the Arkansas Writers MFA Workshop. In addition, her circulating book manuscript, tentatively entitled “Seeing Things,” ranked in the top 30 entries (semifinalist) out of more than 600 manuscripts in the prestigious Ohio State University’s The Journal’s Charles B. Wheeler Book Prize.
