Bus Trip to Washington for LHU Students
The Lock Haven University Public Health Club presents a bus trip to Washington, DC to view "Outbreak: Epidemics in a Connected World" Exhibit at the National Museum of Natural History on Saturday, March 28 with departure at 6:30 a.m. from campus. The bus trip is for enrolled LHU students, including commuters. To reserve a seat, students should submit $5 at a meeting on Thursday, March 5, 7 p.m. in Room 143, Willis Health Professions Center. Celebrate Pa.'s birthday
The Pennsylvania Military Museum in Centre County remembers the Birthday of the Commonwealth in 1681 with free museum admission on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Visit pamilmuseum.org for more info.
Turkey Supper
A turkey supper will take place at the Sugar Valley Church of the Bretheren, 2305 E. Winter Road, Loganton, on March 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will feature roast turkey, filling, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls and homemade desserts. Donations will be accepted for the dinner. Proceeds will benefit the church's building improvement fund. Take-outs will be available. For information, please call 570-725-3767.
Poetry Reading
For National Poetry Month, newly-published poet Charley Springer will be visiting the Ross Library for a poetry reading. Charley will be at the library at 7 p.m. on April 14, reading from his new book "Juice!" a collection of poems that is "really magical and magically real about American life."
