The Renovo Fire Company Station #29 put this 1992 Pierce walk-in rescue truck into service last week. The truck will act as the primary rescue vehicle for area motor vehicle accidents. Combined with state of the art rescue equipment-typically referred to as the jaws-of-life, the capabilities of the new truck are remarkable. In addition to the apparatus that can now often be handled by one person to rip into vehicles during an accident, the truck houses an air system and 100-foot hoses for the equipment to be used with ease, well away from the truck. A large towering lighting system on top of the unit will allow much improved sight during a night time emergency. An on-board cascade system will allow first responders the ability to refill their air packs should they be on a scene (or fire) where they need additional oxygen filled into their back units. In addition to standard seating, a large bench runs along the walk-in part of the truck ensuring there will never be a situation where enough responders cannont get on board to get to a scene. The Williams Foundation-a subsidiary of Williams Energy, allowed Station #29 to put the finishing touches on their 1992 Pierce, making the truck look new again with personalized Renovo Fire Department graphics just before it went into service.
