Spring fever
Downtown Lock Haven Inc. Manager Marie Vilello saw an excited city resident shoveling off a section of the levee walkway on Wednesday evening. "She's excited about the warm weather coming and thought that she'd help the melting process and get a good upper body workout," Vilello said. We're sure the city is appreciative of her help in clearing the walkway and we hope, just like her, the warmer temperatures can stick around.
Origami kits
The Ross Library, 232 W. Main St., Lock Haven, is offering basic origami kits for those interested in trying the art of folding paper into cool shapes. Each kit contains simple instructions to make three different animals, plus 10 pieces of origami paper. The kits are free and can be picked up in the lobby of the library or included with a phone-in book order. 570-748-3321 / ross13@rosslibrary.org
Little Libraries
The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven encourages residents to scan the many books located in their Little Red Libraries in Triangle and Hanna parks. There are a variety of books for youngsters, teens and adults to choose from. You can take a book and leave another in its place or simply take a book and bring it back. You do not have to replace a book that you take. Downtown Rotary is also in search of children's books. Anyone who wishes to donate a book can simply leave it in one of the libraries or call Downtown Rotary President Diahan Claghorn at 814-571-5324.
