Franek appointed deputy administrator
BELLEFONTE — The Centre County Board of Commissioners has approved the appointment of John C. Franek, Jr. as Deputy County Administrator effective March 22, 2021.
Franek brings extensive local government experience to this position. He serves currently as the Code Services Manager for the Centre Region Council of Governments and prior to his employment with the Centre Region COG, Mr. Franek worked for fourteen years with College Township in a variety of capacities including as their Management Analyst with responsibilities spanning across a wide variety of business functions and projects to promote the efficient and effective delivery of services to Township residents.
Franek is a well-regarded and accomplished public administration professional with significant expertise in helping to manage local government services, said County Administrator Margaret Gray. The Board of Commissioners looks forward to welcoming Franek to Centre County government knowing that he brings a wealth of experience to the management team as we serve County residents.
Among his responsibilities as DeputyAdministrator will be the oversight and management of the County’s capital projects and other project management roles across County government.
Franek is a resident of Philipsburg and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the Upper Iowa University.
