YARD SALE DAYS

I'm happy to add community yard sales to my Howard Happenings article. Keep in mind that if you put up yard sale signs you should go back and take them down, too. You should wear a mask and practice social distancing when attending yard sales. Take along some hand sanitizer to use frequently, too.

Rote Community Yard Sale Days will be today and April 24.

Howard United Methodist Church will have an indoor yard sale on April 29-30 and May 1 at the church at 144 W. Main St. in Howard from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Donations of clean and working items are being accepted now and can be dropped off at the church. Call 814-625-2182 for drop off times so that items don't get rained on.

Flemington Yard Sale Days will be on April 30 and May 1.

Howard Town-wide Yard Sale Days will be on May 7 and 8.

Howard Christian Church will be having a yard and bake sale on May 7 and May 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations of good, clean and working items are being accepted. You can leave your donations under the porch at the church parking lot so they don't get rained on. The church will have food and baked goods available along with yard sale items. Call Sheri at 814-876-2910 for more info. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help neighbors in need thru the church's outreach mission.

Milesburg Yard Sale Days will be on May 14 and May 15. Milesburg Museum will also be open during the sale days. Milesburg will have it's fall yard sale days on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, 2021.

Bellefonte Yard Sale Days will be May 14 and May 15.

Howard Fire Company will have their indoor yard sale on May 20-21-22. You can drop your donations off on May 17-19 at the fire hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please be sure your items are clean and in good working condition. The sale times will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

Continental Courts Mobile Home Park (up Buffalo Run) Yard Sales will be June 4-5.

Town-wide Yard Sales in Beech Creek and Blanchard will be on June 4 and 5. If anyone wants to reserve a table indoors at the Friendship Community Center for the yard sale days in Beech Creek you may contact Sandy at 570-962-2397.

Centre Hall Yard Sales will be on June 25 and 26.

100 Mile Yard Sale on Route 879 thru Centre, Clearfield, Elk and Cameron Counties will be on July 16 and 17. Residents and businesses in the areas of Karthaus, Pine Glen, Clearfield, Shawville, Frenchville, Curwensville, Benezette, Medix Run and Sinnemahoning will be having yard sales this weekend as part of the 100-Mile Yard Sale.

CHEER CLUB

The Senior Cheer Club will meet on Thursday, May 6, at noon at the Friendship Community Center in Beech Creek. Club President Larry Butler invites anyone age 50 or older to come for food and fellowship. Bring a covered dish to share for the noon luncheon and a wrapped item for the bingo games.

Senior Cheer Club meets the first Thursday of each month at noon. For more info about the Beech Creek-Blanchard Senior Cheer Club give Larry a call at 570-962-2848.

SPRING BAZAAR

Howard VFW Club will host an outdoor Spring Bazaar tomorrow, April 24, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The Beech Creek Trailblazers 4-H Club will be selling food at the bazaar so be sure to support the 4-H kids while attending.

FAIRVIEW CEMETERY

Fairview Cemetery in Boggs Township will undergo clean-up efforts on Saturday, May 1. Anyone wanting to save gravesite decorations should retrieve them before the clean-up day.

The annual Memorial Service at the Fairview Cemetery will be held on Sunday, May 23, beginning at 2 p.m. The service is outdoors and people should practice their social distancing skills.

MOM'S BREAKFAST

Howard United Methodist Church will host a Mother's Breakfast on Saturday, May 8, at the church. Bring your mom to eat (free) from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Take-out meals are also available. Please RSVP to Patti at 814-625-2182 to let her know how many will be dining in or getting take-outs.

RAFFLE TICKETS

Friendship Community Center in Beech Creek is selling raffle tickets and FCC President Sandy Boob would like your support. The tickets are in booklets of 10 and are $1 each. The drawing will be in early June and the proceeds from the ticket sale will go towards updating the restroom and replacing the exterior siding at the Friendship Community Center.

Sandy and volunteers will be at the FCC on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. so if you'd like to buy tickets or if you can help sell the tickets please drop by the FCC or call Sandy at 570-962-2397.
