Pickin' and Singin' at the Poorman

LOCK HAVEN -- Bring your acoustic instruments and your singing voice to Pickin' and Singin' at the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water St., Lock Haven on May 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of playing and singing old time tunes with the Maguires.
This is a free Second Sunday Program sponsored by the Historical Society to fulfill their mission to collect, preserve and share the history of Clinton County. Hours for the Heisey House Museum are Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and beginning Memorial Day weekend Saturday summer hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Castanea Township Community Day planned
CASTANEA -- Castanea Township Recreation Committee announced Community Day, Saturday, July 24, all day at the Castanea Train Station Complex, Logan Avenue in Castanea; Harvey's Run Park on Nittany Road; Bald Eagle Valley Trail, and the Castanea Fire Company Station #3.
Planned events include a 5K Run/Walk with the Friends of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail, craft/artist/vendor fair at the train station, children's entertainment at Harvey's Run Park, fire engine and games at the fire hall, local history talk with the Clinton County Historical Society in the kiosk, Clinton Central Model Railroad Club Open House and live music (location TBD).
Crafters, artists and vendors are being recruited and must register by June 18 at https://tinyurl.com/castaneavendorsignup. Further details will be announced.

Carnival to benefit

programs
LOCK HAVEN -- Tickets are now on sale for the Family Spring Carnival, a new event this year to benefit Clinton County's homeless programs.
The carnival promises to be a day of fun for the entire family and includes DJ entertainment, games, prizes, food and more.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, at Riverview Park, Palmetto Drive, Lock Haven.
Tickets, at $20, will admit two people, and then $5 for each additional person.
Get your tickets now at Avenue 209, 209 Bellefonte Ave. Lock Haven, or the Life Center at 330 E. Main Street Rear, Lock Haven.
A limited number of tickets will be available on the day of the event.
It's a Rain Barrel
Workshop
LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Conservation District will be holding a Rain Barrel Workshop on June 15 and June 21, beginning at 6 p.m. each day, via Zoom webinar platform.
If you're looking for ways to conserve water and reduce pollution, a rain barrel is a collection system that stores roof top runoff to be used later for activities such as watering the lawn or garden. Attend the workshop and receive a free 55-gallon rain barrel with attachments.
Participants must register and participate in the Webinar to receive a free rain barrel.

Scholarships available for Flemington grads
FLEMINGTON -- All 2021 high school graduates living in Flemington who are planning to continue their education after high school are eligible to apply for a scholarship offered by the Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee.
Applications and guidelines are available by calling 570-772-5558, 570-660-7431 or 570-748-6694.
Leave a message and a return call will be made to arrange delivery of an application and guidelines.
Application deadline is June 1.
Winning applicants will be notified by June 4.
