Lumbering of Hyner Run

HYNER — On Friday, Sept. 24, at 2:30 p.m., there will be a program on the “Lumbering of Hyner Run” at Hyner Run State Park. Step back into time and experience the culture of the lumbermen in the late 1800’s. Topics will include the local history and prehistory of the area, the different developments made in the era, and the results at the end of the era. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Please bring a lawn chair. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the amphitheater by the pool.

Birding at Hyner Run

HYNER — On Friday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m., join the naturalist for some “Birding at Hyner Run” at Hyner Run State Park. Topics will include the different birds that live at Hyner Run and also how to identify them. Please bring your own binoculars and other birding gear. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at playground.

The Reservoir, the Dam, and Little Pine

LITTLE PINE — On Saturday, Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m., there will be a program on “The Reservoir, the Dam, and Little Pine” at Little Pine State Park. Join the naturalist to take a stroll on the dam and learn the significance of it to the Little Pine Creek Valley, and also to the Susquehanna River. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the beginning of the Lake Shore Trail (kiosk at dam).
