FCC BAZAAR

The Friendship Community Center in Beech Creek is having a Fall Bazaar on Nov. 5 and 6. Hours for the bazaar this evening are from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday's hours are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. There are some vendor spots available yet so if you'd like to set up a table space you can contact Sandi at 570-962-2397 today. Snacks will be available for sale during the bazaar, too.

The FCC is selling the Kiwanis Fall Raffle tickets that are $1 each. Tickets will be available at the bazaar and if anyone can help sell tickets please let Sandi know soon. There are about 500 tickets left to sell and the FCC plans to use the proceeds to put in a new handicap ramp at the front of the building.

Dan Yeaney and his band played at the FCC last Sunday afternoon and everyone had a great time. Dan and his band plan to be at the FCC to share their music again later this month and I'll be sure to let you know the date and time.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY

Liberty Baptist Church in Blanchard will be celebrating their 150th Founding Anniversary this weekend. The public is invited to participate in the celebration beginning on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. for an open house and gathering. A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned, too.

A special anniversary banquet is planned for 6:30 p.m. that will unveil the documentary entitled "My, How We Have Changed" and musical entertainment will accompany the social time during the evening.

On Sunday morning, Nov. 7, there will be coffee and donuts offered at 9 a.m. followed by the worship service that begins at 10 a.m. The celebration will continue at 1:30 p.m. for an ice cream social and hymn sing.

Copies of the 150th Church Anniversary Souvenir History Journal will be distributed to those attending the services.

GRANGE SOUP SALE

Logan Grange #109 in Pleasant Gap is having a soup sale on Saturday, Nov. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. and will continue until the soup is all sold out.

The soup flavors being offered are ham and bean, vegetable beef and chicken chili. Soup is $8 for each quart and can be pre-ordered by calling 814-360-5756 or 814-404-1521. Pre-orders can also be handled by emailing to logangrange109@gmail.com or visit the Logan Grange #109 Facebook page.

The Logan Grange headquarters is at 122 N. Main St. in Pleasant Gap, PA.

CANDY & NUTS

Liberty Baptist Church in Blanchard has some extra Terry Lynn candies and nuts that are available. The varieties of nuts range from almonds, cashews, peanuts and walnuts. The items range in price from $6 to $12 and will make great Christmas gifts. Satisfy your nut and candy cravings by contacting Joyce at 570-962-3355.

POT PIE SALE

Bald Eagle Valley Community Church will have a ham or chicken pot pie sale on Monday, Nov. 8. Pre-orders should be called in to Janette at 814-883-0893 before. The pot pie is $8 per quart and comes in freezable containers with samples of bread included so you can stock up.

Pick-up is at 4 p.m. on Nov. 8 in drive-thru fashion in the church parking lot. The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte (behind the Sheetz Store in Wingate).

JOIN NOW

Haven Performing Art Ensemble is looking for new members to join their group. This is a local organization of dance and majorette competition teams competing with Tournament Indoor Association. The season typically starts with practices in early November. Competitions start in late January and continue until mid-May ending with the TIA Atlantic Coast Championships in Wildwood, N.J.

Haven Performing Arts is currently looking for students ages kindergarten to 15 to join any of the dance or majorette teams. No experience is necessary. SAUSAGE SALE

Millheim Fire Company will be having a sausage sale in November. Your choice of loose or stuffed sausage with salt and pepper seasonings will be sold in one pound bags for $4 each. Also available will be 2 pound containers of scrapple for $4 each. Orders and prepayment are due before Nov. 10.

Filled orders will need to be picked up at the fire station on Nov. 18 and 19 during daytime hours or arrange for a different time to pick-up your order. Firemen have order forms or you can stop at the fire station on Wednesday evenings after 6:30 p.m. to place your order. Orders may also be called in to 814-470-1510.

SOUP SALE

Howard United Methodist Church will have a Take Out Only Soup Sale on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church at 144 W. Main St. in Howard.

Flavors of soup are vegetable beef, ham and bean, chicken corn and chicken noodle.

Soup is $7 for each quart and pre-orders are strongly encouraged. To place your order call Patti at 814-625-2182 and leave your name, number and flavor of soups that you want and your phone number.

Please wear a mask when you come inside to pay when you pick up your soup at the church on Nov. 18.

LIONS NEWS

Howard Area Lions Club has their lottery calendars for 2022 available for sale. The calendars are a fundraising project that uses the PA Lottery Pick 3 number as the winner. The calendars are $10 each and payouts range from $10 to $300 during the entire year of 2022.

Lions Bingo is generally held the second and fourth Thursday's of the month but in November it will be held on Nov. 11 and on Nov. 18 which is moved up a week because of Thanksgiving Day.

Howard Area Lions Food Bank will have their food distribution on Nov. 15 for residents who live in the Beech Creek area and those in the Lions servicing area of Centre County who missed their distribution date earlier this month. Distribution is from noon to 3 p.m. at the former Beech Creek Elementary School. Be sure to bring back your sturdy boxes so that the Lions can reuse them for future food distributions.

FIRE RAFFLES

Several fire companies in the area are having raffles to raise funds for their departments.

Howard Fire Company will have their gun drawing on Nov. 13 from noon to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10. This year the special Bingo Ball game prize is a Kimber Micro 9. Tickets are available from fire company members or at the door.

A gun and cash raffle is being sponsored by the Sugar Valley, Lamar Township and Renovo Fire Companies using a 2022 calendar system. Winners are based on the PA Lottery first evening Pick 4 drawing during the year. Calendars are $25 each and are available from the fire companies members or by contacting Myron Seyler at 570-660-0300. Additional information, rules and a list of winners will be posted at www.sugarvalleyfire.com.

SANTA JUMP

The Santa Jump for 2021 is going to happen on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Santa and his elves will be parachuting onto the Beech Creek ball field at 1 p.m. There will be crafts, vendors, food, 50/50 raffle, a Chinese Auction, and ham, turkey and bike give-aways.

Vendors and volunteers are needed and this event would be a great opportunity for high school students to use as their senior project. If you are interested in being a vendor, a sponsor or a volunteer this year you should get in touch with Billie soon so that she knows she has your commitment and support to help with planning, set-up, handling activities during the day of the event and for clean-up. TITAN MARKET

Titan Market is open every Friday and Saturday at the old Cerro Metal building along Axemann Road in Bellefonte. Vendors are set up inside for you to browse and purchase many different craft and gift items, frozen foods and baked goods.

On Nov. 12 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Nov. 13 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Titan Market there will be a "Rudolph's Rally Christmas Craft Show" and on Nov. 26 there will be a special Black Friday Sale. Call 814-404-7422 for more info about the Titan Market.

THANKSGIVING MEAL

Howard United Methodist Church will be having a free community Thanksgiving meal on Saturday, Nov. 20. The meal is by take out only and can be picked up at the church from 5-6:30 p.m. The meal will be of turkey and the trimmings and is free to all members of the community.

Pre-ordering is necessary and can be done by calling Patti at 814-625-2182. Please provide your name and the number of meals you want to reserve and your telephone number.

CLUB SHOOTS

Liberty Township Sportsmen's Association will hold shoots at the club house grounds this month. On Sunday, Nov. 7, there will be a turkey shoot at 1 p.m. Participants must use a standard hunting gun without a scope for the shoot. Shells will be available.

On Sunday, Nov. 14, there will be a muzzle loader shoot at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Skeet and Wobble Shoots are held each Thursday evening under the lights at the skeet field.

The club will have a membership meeting in the club house on Sunday, Nov. 21, beginning at 2 p.m. All members and those interested in the Sportsmen's Association should plan to attend.
