Programs announced at the Ross Library
LOCK HAVEN -- April 22 was Earth Day! Until the end of April, the Ross Library will be handing out kits to make seed bombs! The kits will be free and available at the main desk. Each one contains instructions, a packet of seeds, and the materials to make the seed bomb. Take them home, assemble them, throw them, and let the flowers grow!
A local history class is being held at the Ross Library on the second Thursday of each month. Until May 2022, historian Lou Bernard will hold monthly talks about Clinton County's history, covering a different area each month. The program will conclude on May 12 with Flemington.

Central PA Civil War Round Table to meet May 3
STATE COLLEGE -- The Central PA Civil War Round Table will meet on Tuesday evening, May 3, at the PA Military Museum auditorium, 51 Boal Ave., in Boalsburg beginning at 7 p.m.
The featured speaker is James Hessler who will speak on "Come On You Wolverines -- George Armstrong Custer in the Gettysburg Campaign."
James Hessler has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park since 2003. His 2009 book, "Sickles at Gettysburg," was awarded the R.E. Lee Civil War Round Table's Bachelder Coddington Award and the Gettysburg Civil War Round Table's Distinguished Book Award as the most outstanding work on the Gettysburg Campaign. His most recent book, "Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg," was co-authored with Wayne Motts and released in 2015.
Jim has been a guest on NPR, Travel Channel, PCN-TV, Breitbart News, Civil War Radio, and Gettysburg Daily. He is a popular author and speaker at Civil War Round Tables who has taught courses for the Gettysburg Foundation and Harrisburg Area Community College. Jim was one of the primary content designers for the Civil War Trust's mobile Gettysburg application and animated maps.

LHU Concert Band to present annual President's Concert
LOCK HAVEN -- The Lock Haven University Concert Band will present their annual President's Concert at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, in the Price Performance Center Auditorium on the LHU campus.
The band will perform music from popular Hollywood movies such as "The Pirates of the Caribbean," "Frozen" and "The Incredibles." Other favorite pieces will include "Disco Lives," "Fanfare and Flourishes" and "Arabesque."
The concert is free and open to the public.
LHU Student Veteran's Alliance to host Veteran Suicide Awareness Walk
LOCK HAVEN -- The Lock Haven University Student Veteran's Alliance will host a Veteran Suicide Awareness walk from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Alumni Pavilion on the Poorman Commons on campus.
The event is being held to bring awareness to veteran suicide and PTSD. It will include a guest speaker at 6:30 p.m. and a 22-minute walk to begin at 7 p.m. representing 22 veteran suicides a day. There also will be snacks and beverages available and T-shirts for sale.
The event is open to the public and all proceeds will benefit the Clinton County Office of Veteran's Affairs.
