Clinton County Community Foundation presents check to fire police

LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Community Foundation presented a check to the Clinton County Fire Police for a $6,510 grant.

The grant, which the Clinton County Fire Police received in 2021, was part of the foundation's 2020 grant program and was used to make and install unit identification and safety decals on the main traffic unit.

The traffic unit was purchased in 2020 from the Bellefonte EMS Association and once repairs were completed, also in part by the Clinton County Community Foundation 2019 grant, the unit was placed in service. Although in service, the unit lacked the identifying station decals, a rear safety decal and the directional signage atop the rear of the unit.

"We are grateful for the generosity of the donors to the Clinton County Community Foundation. They make grants like this possible for non-profit organizations that serve the community," said Gary Mellott, Clinton County Fire Police President. "The safety hazard decal on the rear of the unit and the directional signage atop the unit were the most important items of the project. They are in place to alert the oncoming traffic of directional changes to traffic flow and for the safety of the first responders on scene. They are vital pieces to scene safety for all involved. We would like to thank the foundation for this donation and supporting our project which, ultimately, supports our community."

The Clinton County Community Foundation was formed in 1968 with the purpose of distributing money to nonprofits within the county to help with special projects or initiatives. These allocated funds are available through income generated form the investment of bequests and gifts given by individuals who believe in the Foundation and in Clinton County.
