LOCK HAVEN — On Jan. 13, Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations donated $5,000 to the Michael Brookens, Todd Mellott and Michael Gardner Memorial Fund, an endowed fund with the Clinton County Community Foundation.
This is the second donation the memorial fund has received from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations, with the first donation being $2,500 in 2019.
Created in 2017, by Jim Akeley, Kelli Gardner and Cheryl Seddon, the intention of this fund is to honor three men who were not only close friends, but also good stewards in their community.
Michael Brookens passed away in November 2014, Todd Mellott passed away in November 2015 and Michael Gardner passed away in November 2016. Annually, the proceeds from this fund now benefit the Lock Haven YMCA swim program; the Central Mountain High School band program; and the Annie Halenbake Ross Library.
“These three men gave back to the community in many ways. They are terribly missed and we are honored to carry their names on in perpetuity,” a release from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations said.
If you would like to support this memorial fund, please forward your donation, with “The Michael Brookens, Todd Mellott, and Michael Gardner Memorial Fund” listed in the memo section of the check, to The Clinton County Community Foundation, PO Box 652, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
