LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's Support Group of Clinton County will meet Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The group, sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania and Covenant Church, is open to anyone caring for someone with dementia or any memory loss related disease and for those interested in learning more about dementia.
The goal of the group is to provide education and support to family and non-family caregivers alike. This month's meeting will be a mutual support session where caregivers can share common issues and concerns and educate themselves about the disease. Suggestions for future meeting topics are always welcome.
The support group is free and meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the church. Parking is available in the church parking lot and the building is handicapped accessible. Sitter service can be provided to the person with dementia while the caregiver is attending the meeting but prior arrangements must be made with the group facilitator.
