LOCK HAVEN -- Dogwood Circle Garden Club resumes its seasonal "Garden of the Month" Award program this month. The chosen theme is "Pretty Porches" which includes landscaping and floral elements.
May winners of Dogwood Circle's Garden of the Month award are Cindy and Jack Caprio, 217 Mackeyville Road.
The Caprio porch, newly painted by Jack, is beautifully decorated, with abundant potted geraniums, hens and chicks, snake plant, hanging ferns, carefully coordinated colors and garden-themed antiques.
Flanking the porch are flower beds with a wide variety of colorful flowers, including Johnny Jump Ups, Columbine, Hosta, Lily of the Valley, Pansies, Pinks, African Daisy and decorative bird houses, watering cans and crocks.
A favorite spot is the swing handmade by Jack's uncle.

The June garden will be chosen at the end of May. Judges are Judy (570-660-4272) and Svitlana. Gardens and porches must be viewable from a public street or alley, include natural plantings and be neatly maintained.
