Local church to hold Holy Moments in History lecture

MILL HALL -- Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main Street, Mill Hall, is holding a Holy Moments in History lecture at the church on Wednesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. Everyone is invited.

Mike Palischak will be speaking about James Madison, one of our founding fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence. Participants will learn how Madison's faith influenced his decisions in the development of our country. The church is handicap accessible with lots of parking in the back of the church.

Lock Haven Band to present President's concert

LOCK HAVEN -- The Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Band, under the direction of Dr. Mahlon O. Grass, will host its annual Spring President's Concert on Thursday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Price Performing Arts Center Auditorium.

The Loyalsock Township High School band, under the direction of Ryan Bulgarelli, will join the Lock Haven band for Gustav Holst's "Second Suite in F for Military Band."

Other pieces planned for the performance include, "Ride" by Samuel Hazo, "Quartet in the Forest" by Hayato Hirose, "Zoot Suit Riot" by Paul Murtha, and "How to Train Your Dragon" by John Powell.

The performance is free and open to the public.

Lemont Village Assoc. to hold Spring Plant Sale

LEMONT -- The Lemont Village Association will hold its Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Village Green, between Dale Street and 133 M. Nittany Road.

Plants for sale will include annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, herbs, vegetables and more. Plants are from Patchwork Farms and Lemont gardens.

The sale will benefit the LVA pollinator garden fund and offer an opportunityt o meet your neighbors and find great plants for your yard and garden -- just in time for Mother's Day.
