Ross Library announces programs for June

LOCK HAVEN -- During the summer of 2023, the Ross Library will celebrate kindness and diversity with the PALA Summer Reading Theme, "All Together Now."

At 6 p.m. on June 20, Bre Reynolds of the Clinton County Pride Alliance will hold a training for LGBTQ+ Allies, showing how to be the best ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

On June 22, at 6 p.m., LHU Library director Joby Topper will present "Kindness and Diversity at LHU," in which he takes a look back at the history of the university and shares stories of diversity and incidents of kindness throughout the school's history.

On Fridays in June and July, Lou Bernard will be bringing back his annual summer history tours of Lock Haven. Every Friday, in June and July, the tours will begin at the Ross Library at 7 p.m. Each tour takes about an hour, and will feature a different route or theme. The first tour will be on June 2, and discuss Water Street.

On the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.n., join the Ross Library for Adult Storytime. Each month, a volunteer will read a different short story to adults eighteen and up. Snacks will be provided. The next session will be on June 13.

"Knit-Picking" will be held on the second Monday of every month. Bring your knitting supplies, and come knit or crochet in a relaxing environment.

"Saturday Crafternoons" is a crafting program held on the last Saturday of each month. Each session begins at 12:30 p.m. with a simple craft. On June 24, the craft will be upcycled drink coasters.

On the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m., an adult coloring session will be held in the Sloan Room. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials, or use the library's. The next session will be held on June 5.
