BEECH CREEK -- The Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG) is hosting two fundraisers in the near future -- a Bingo taking place May 21 and a dinner on June 3.
"SFRG is an organization that helps to build strong families and bridges the gap between families and military units," said Sergeant Nikki Litz, Family Readiness Liaison. "Through picnics and holiday events, (we) help boost the morale of the soldier and family members especially during times when the soldier is away from their loved ones."
The Bingo is open to the public and anyone can attend. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Bingo will be held at KBR Bingo, 1 Piper Way, Third Floor, Lock Haven. (Piper Museum building, elevator provided.) Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m. In addition, there will be a Chinese Auction, rip tickets, 50/50 and more. The kitchen will be open!
If someone is interested in purchasing a ticket in advance to lock in the discounted price, they are able to reach out to Jerri Young at 570-660-3437 or Nikki Litz at 570-295-4739.
"The fundraiser is great for building funds to conduct the events for the soldiers and their families, but it is also awesome to be able to get out among the community and show them our appreciation," said Litz.
The dinner will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread and a dessert. It will be held at the Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Company social hall located at 38 Locust St. in Beech Creek. It will take place from 4-7 p.m.
There is no RSVP deadline for the dinner, the cost is $10 per meal and is available for both dine in and take out.
"The SFRG is extremely appreciative of the support we have received from the community. It is amazing to know that your hard work and dedication as a soldier does not go unnoticed and is truly appreciated," said Litz.
