Lock Haven City Public Beach receives CCCF grant

The Lock Haven City Public Beach along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River at the north end of Grove Street will open this Tuesday, June 27. Kasey Campbell, city director of community life, said lifeguards are ready to staff the beach and the city public works crew has been cleaning up and readying the facility, which includes public restrooms. The beach will be staffed generally Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. up to about mid-August. If a guard is not there it is swim at your own risk. "Growing up as a swimmer, water safety is very important to me. Our City Beach provides a free recreational opportunity for residents and it is a priority to ensure it is safe for all who visit," Campbell said. The beach is a recipient of a Clinton County Community Foundation grant, providing critical funds to staff the beach and care for the infrastructure. Shown accepting a $2,500 grant from the Foundation are Campbell, left, and Grant Waldron, a public works staff member.
