August programs at Ross Library announced

LOCK HAVEN -- During the summer of 2023, the Ross Library celebrates kindness and diversity with the PALA Summer Reading Theme,"All Together Now." On Aug. 14, 15, and 17, Roads To Peace, formerly the Clinton County Women's Center, will hold three programs on domestic violence and the services they can provide. These programs will be held each day at 2 p.m.

On Aug. 17 at 6 p.m., tech staffer Claire Mierwald will hold a program on "Coming Together With Social Media," which will teach the basics in social media such as Facebook and Instagram for anyone who would like to learn to be involved.

On Aug. 18, at 7 p.m., Lou Bernard will give a fully wheelchair accessible historic tour of the downtown Lock Haven area. This tour will begin at the library and includes some of the major historic sites in Lock Haven. Every part of the tour will be wheelchair accessible for handicapped patrons.

On the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m., join the Ross Library for Adult Storytime. Each month, a volunteer will read a different short story to adults 18 and up. Snacks will be provided. The next session will be on Aug. 14.

"Knit-Picking" will be held on the second Monday of every month. Bring your knitting supplies, and come knit or crochet in a relaxing environment.

"Saturday Crafternoons" is a crafting program held on the last Saturday of each month. Each session begins at 12:30 p.m. with a simple craft. On Aug. 26, the craft will be alien toys.
