Way Fruit Farm in Port Matilda is having their third annual Art in the Orchard Craft Show today, July 14, and tomorrow. Craft vendors and live music, games and fun for the whole family is on tap each day from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Faith Chapel United Methodist Church in Hunter Run will be having their Roger A. White Fun Fair on Saturday, July 15, at the church from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Along with the Fun Fair there will also be a silent auction. Come enjoy countless games and a moon bounce along with great food and baked goods during the day. Sign up for the jello eating contest that begins at 1 p.m. Silent Auction bidding begins at 2 p.m. for some really nice items that have been donated.
Faith Chapel's Bargains and Blessings Community Closet will also be open in the church for you to browse and purchase new and gently used clothing in all sizes. Get a whole bagful of clothes and accessories for just $5.
Liberty Township Sportsman's Club will be having some events that you may be interested in.
Tomorrow there will be a Sporting Clay Shoot with 50 targets that runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The kitchen will be open to serve lunch, eat in or take outs.
Muzzleloader Shoots are held every second Saturday of the month. Sign-ups at 9 a.m. and shooting starts at 9:30 a.m. The shoots are open to the public. Bring your own eye and ear protection.
Overnight camping is available at the Sportsman's Club grounds. Call Dawn 570-660-7901 to reserve your spot.
The Jacksonville Cemetery Association's annual festival is on Saturday, too! The Festival starts at 5 p.m. and offers a Chinese auction, dime and penny pitch, fish pond and other kid's games along with Bingo and the Paddle Wheel. Lots of food stands will be offering hamburgers, hot dogs, hot sausages, french fries, hoagies, corn dogs, ice cream and cake. Live music from 6-9 p.m. featuring the Lomison Family and Friends. Bring a lawn chair and settle in for some old-fashioned festival fun. Proceeds benefit the cemetery association's perpetual care and grass mowing expenses.
Lamar Lighthouse Camp is having their summer concerts on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. The Lore Family will be in concert on July 16. The concerts are free to attend, but a love offering is taken during the service. Lamar Lighthouse Campground is located along Route 64 in Lamar. For more info call Lynette at 570-337-0203.
The Advent Church and Historical Museum located at 1303 Moose Run Road, Bellefonte, is hosting their second of three concerts, entitled Music at the Advent, that will be held this year. On Sunday, July 16, at 2 p.m. the music theme will be Centre County Bluegrass and will be featuring the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners. A special performance by artist, singer and fiddler Lindsey Fyfe is planned. For this concert Fyfe plans to dedicate it to the memory of her father, Dick Fyfe (1930-2022), to honor his lifelong love of music and art nurtured in our own Centre County area.
The public is invited to bring your lawn chair for added comfort and enjoy the concert as well as summertime refreshments of watermelon, cookies and lemonade. You'll also get a chance to meet the performers and to visit the on-site museum. All events are free. SUMMER AT CURTIN
Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village is hosting Sunday afternoon tours on the second and fourth Sunday in July, August and September. This year, visitors can select a guided walking tour or an expanded tour option that provides greater interpretation of the importance of the site, its evolution, the industrial process and the lifestyles of the people who worked and lived at Curtin contributing to its 112 years of operation as a significant iron making plantation in the Juniata Iron District. Donations are gratefully appreciated in lieu of an entrance fee.
Coming up on July 23 is "Cool Off at Curtin" with free ice cream for the first 25 tour guests to sign in.
All tours start at 2 p.m.
Heritage Weekend at Curtin will be Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26, and 27. On Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Roland Curtin Foundation will host Victorian Photography Studio from Gettysburg, Pa., who will stage Civil War era photos using period clothing and props. These photos will be taken as they were done in the mid-1800s using the wet plate collodion process, often referenced as a tintype. Capture your family's image or yours as it would have happened in 1860. Reservations and a fee are required to receive a Victorian era photo. The reservation forms will be available soon. Other unique photo opportunities will be available with the historic Curtin excursion wagon and Gov. Andrew Gregg Curtin's "Victoria" carriage.
Presentations will be given on Saturday afternoon to explain the wet plate collodion process and the development of film photography in the 20th century from cabinet cards through Polaroid photos.
Sunday afternoon, Aug. 27, is family history day and guests will be offered opportunities to trace their ancestors with the help of seasoned genealogists. Tours of the historic buildings will also be available on Sunday.

LIONS NEWS
Howard Area Lions Club will be having their food bank distribution on Monday, July 17. Clinton County residents living in Beech Creek Borough and BC Township are invited to come for food aid between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. Centre County residents in the Lions servicing area who missed their pick-up last week can also come on July 17.
The Lions will be having a Ladies Night Chicken BBQ at 6:30 at the Yearick Center in Howard. Lion members and their special ladies are invited along with the widows of past Howard Area Lions men. The Lions Annual Father & Son Steak Night will be held on Aug. 1 at the Yearick Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. Howard Lions members and their sons can eat fee, but guests will be charged a small fee for the meal.
Food Bank dates for August will be on the 7th and 21st.
The Lions will host a blood drive at the Howard Fire Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 1-6 p.m.
Sympathy is extended to the families of two Howard Area Lions Club members who have passed away recently. Lion Terry Watson, 71, passed away on May 6. He is survived by his wife, Dora Lea, of Hunter Run, and their three sons and their families. Lion Kline 'Skip' Wolf, 77, passed away on June 10. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of Howard, and their three sons and their families.

Keystone Babe Ruth & More has special Bingo dates coming soon.
Christmas in July Bingo is on July 15 with awesome prizes along with rip tickets, 50/50, and a basket raffle. On July 29 there will be a benefit Bingo for Kaitlin Toner and on Aug. 5 a Bingo will benefit PSAD. Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo starts at 1 p.m.
Bingo is also held every Tuesday evening to benefit Keystone Babe Ruth Baseball. Doors and the kitchen open at 5 p.m., Early Bird game is at 6:15 p.m. and regular games begin at 6:30 p.m. There's a Bingo bus for those who need a ride. COUNTRY JAM
Back Porch String Band will be having their monthly Country Jam at the Yearick Center (Howard Fire Hall) on Sunday, July 23. Bring your instrument and strum along or just sit and enjoy the music. Bring a snack to share for the afternoon of toe-tapping, hand clapping tunes from 2-6 p.m. A donation basket is passed with the funds collected benefitting the Howard Fire Company.
YARNELL NEWS
Jack Miller will be making his famous subs and cheese steaks in August. The subs will be made on Aug. 2-5 and available for pickup from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. This year the hoagie flavors will be regular-$8, ham-$10, turkey-$10, roast beef-$11, and Canadian bacon-$12. Cheese steaks will also be available for $12. Walk-in orders are welcomed, but pre-ordering is best because once the supplies are gone they're not reordering. Pre-orders should be called into Jack before July 16 so he can get the begin gathering the necessary supplies.
Jack is also the rental co-coordinator for the Yarnell Community Center. The former school house building has been updated, has a nice kitchen and counter area and will seat about 100 people. The cost is $75 per day and can be booked by calling Jack at 814-699-0548.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Treat yourself to an old-fashioned ice cream social sponsored by the Nittany/Sugar Valley United Methodist Charge. The social is planned for Saturday, July 22, from 4-7 p.m. at the Booneville Campground. In addition to homemade ice cream and pie there will also be hamburgers, hot dogs and hot sausages.
A special treat will be Trumpeter Chiz Rider with performances from 4:30-5 p.m. and again from 5:30-6 p.m.
STAMPS
The price of a first class postage stamp took a jump earlier this week. A stamp will now cost 66 cents, up from 63 cents charged previously.
