‘Rockerpillars’ grow throughout the region

WAYNE TOWNSHIP -- The Infant Development Program, Parents As Teachers and children met recently at the Wayne Township Nature Park for a Group Connection event. The activity for the children was to paint rocks to add to the Rockerpillar line near the fence. During the Group Connection, a Walmart gift card was given away to the person who guessed how many rocks were part of the Rockerpillar line. Hazeleigh won the gift card with her guess. Before adding the children's painted rocks from the Group Connection event there had been 81 rocks making up the Rockerpillar.

The Rockerpillar was started with a colorful head crafted by four-year-old Ronnie Munro, who is frequently out and about with his family at the Nature Park, enjoying the summer days and also getting books from the Little Library that Ronnie and his family had made and installed at the Nature Park.

Another Rockerpillar is also in the process of "growing" along the concrete wall at Canal Park that Ronnie Munro has dubbed "Lockerpillar" because of its location in the city.

Feel free to add your colorfully painted rocks to each for the enjoyment of those walking there. Rocks should not be removed from the line unless you put them there, because the children look for their rocks each time they walk by.
