FLEMINGTON -- On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the Lock Haven Christian Women's Connection will enjoy their "A Horse of A Different Color " Luncheon. The program will be held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Allison Township. There is always good food, lots of fun and music and gifted speakers that help inform and inspire ladies to make a most memorable day.
The theme of September's lunch is "A Horse of A Different Color." Ann Gibson will represent Horses of Hope and tell about how they operate to enrich the lives of people with challenges through the relationship with a horse.
There is always a musical component at the luncheons and September's is entitled "Tunes to Ride With." The special music for September's program will be presented by gifted soloist, Judi Merriam.
"Freedom from Living Up to the Expectations of Others" is the title for the inspirational speaker, Judi Merriam from Schenectady, N.Y.
The program begins at 11:50 a.m. The cost of $15 per person includes lunch, entertainment, inspirational speaker and free parking. All area women are invited.
The location allows for on-site childcare for young mothers. Nursery reservations must be made at the time that luncheon reservations are made. Mothers are asked to bring a lunch or snack for the child.
This is a perfectly good time to meet new friends and catch up with long-time friends! The luncheon is a warm and welcoming way to renew and refresh.
The dates for the 2024 luncheons have been set and are: Feb. 28, April 24, June 28, Sept. 11, Oct. 23 and Dec. 4. A note is posted to remind ladies attending to adjust travel plans to the church as the Flemington Bridge may still be closed.
The group is requesting that all who plan to attend make reservations. Reservations must be made by Sept. 21 by calling Bobbie Jo at 570-748-8708, by calling or texting Jerri at 570-295-5725 or by emailing Ann at lockhavencwc@aol.com.
All reservations for the luncheon must be honored.
