MILESBURG EVENTS
Milesburg's fall yard sale dates will be Oct. 6-7.
Citizen's Hook & Ladder Company will hold their gun and cash raffle on Oct. 7. Doors open at noon and the drawing begins at 1 p.m. Must have photo ID and ticket to enter. The fire station is located at 300 Catherine St., Milesburg.
SPORTSMEN'S CLUB
Liberty Township Sportsmen's Association will hold a sporting clay shoot tomorrow at the club grounds. Sign-ups are at 9:30 a.m. and the shoot runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Bring your own eye and ear protection!
On Sept. 30 there will be a turkey shoot at 1 p.m. Registration is at noon. The cost is $13 and prizes are awarded. Visit the website at libertysportsmen.com or contact Mark at 570-295-2288.
BATTLE OF
THE BARREL
Centre Hall Fire Company is holding a benefit fundraiser for fireman Greg Yearick and his family. The benefit will be held tomorrow, Sept. 23, beginning at noon at the fire station. Get together a team of four to compete in the battle of the barrel and come support this fundraiser! Teams of four will be charged a $15 entry fee. You don't need to be involved with a fire department to participate since all hoses and apparatus will be provided. Children are invited, too! If enough kids are interested they can have their own battle teams.
Spectators are also invited to come out and support the fundraiser. There will also be food, a Chinese auction and rip tickets. Donations towards the auction will gladly be accepted and cash donations for the family will surely be appreciated. Call Brian at 814-762-4036 or send an email to him at b25moore@yahoo.com.
Greg Yearick suffered a massive heart attack in June and has had extensive cardiac surgeries since. He hasn't been able to work and volunteer as a fireman like he did before, so this benefit is going to help him and his family tremendously.
LIBRARY EVENTS
Friendship Community Library in Beech Creek is holding free art classes with George Stefanski each Monday in September. Classes are from 4:30-6 p.m.
Technical support with your computer, tablet or cell phone is offered by Claire each Tuesday evening during September from 6-7 p.m.
An adult movie, "The Lost Husband," will be showing on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. Perhaps you've read the book already, but want to see if the movie is better. Popcorn is available, but bring your own drink in a container with a lid to prevent spills on movie days.
On Sept. 26 there will be a kid's movie, the New Super Mario Bros. Bring the kiddos to this movie that starts at 3:30 p.m. Drinks you bring must have lids to prevent spills and be sure to clean up your space before leaving.

VFW EVENTS
Howard Grange #297 will be hosting a Chicken Barbecue on Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. until gone, at the Howard VFW Post 8269. $10 per meal to include chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, a roll and butter.
Howard VFW Post 8269 will be hosting a Corn Hole Tournament as well. Registration will begin at noon and bags fly at 1 p.m. $20 team entry fee. Call Anita at 814-571-4160 for more info about the Barbecue or the Corn Hole tourney.
The Howard VFW Auxiliary is holding a cash Bingo on Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Yearick Center (Howard Fire Hall). Doors open at noon and Bingo begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be obtained at the VFW Club, by calling 814-625-2543 or from any auxiliary member. Must be 21 to play this Bingo. Rip tickets, 50/50, Chinese auction and food will also be available.
TASTE OF TIDE
Join with the Gospel Tide and members of the Marsh Creek and Cedar Heights churches for a Taste of the Tide Mediterranean meal. The meal will be on Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. at the Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church in Mill Hall. The meal is free and will feature Mediterranean food along with a Gospel Tide presentation. Monetary donations will be accepted to support Gospel Tide in spreading God's word through the Mediterranean area.

CASH BINGO
The Clinton/Centre County Baseball Hall of Fame is hosting a Cash Bingo fundraiser at the Beech Creek Fire Company Social Hall on Sunday, Oct. 29. The doors will open at 11 a.m. and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. The tickets will be $25 with only 100 tickets being sold.
In addition to Bingo there will be food, raffle basket prizes, rip tickets and a 50/50 drawing. Tickets can be reserved by calling Terry at 814-422-8030 or 607-368-0108.
SOUP SALE
The first soup sale of the season at Howard United Methodist Church will be on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the church located at 144 W. Main St., in Howard.
Soup is available to eat in or for take-outs in quart, freezable containers for $8.
Dine in for lunch and get your soup, rolls, a piece of pie and drink for the same price.
Proceeds from soup sales are designated to local missions in the area.
NUT SALE
Liberty Baptist Church in Blanchard is holding their annual Terri Lynn Nut Sale now and until Sept. 24. To see an order form or for more info you may call Joyce Beaty at 570-962-3355. Pickup will be in mid-October.
POT PIE SALE
Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church has begun their pot pie sales after taking a summer break. The next sale will be Monday, Oct. 9, and pick-up is in the parking lot beginning at 4 p.m. Quarts of ham or chicken pot pie are sold for $8. It's best to pre-order so you're sure to get yours by calling Janette at 814-883-0893. Walk-in sales are welcome, until sold out. The church is located at 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, just behind the Sheetz store in Wingate.
BASKET RAFFLE
There will be a Mom Boss Basket Raffle tomorrow, from 4-7 p.m., at the John Yost Community Center, 180 Bennage Avenue, Lock Haven. Proceeds from this benefit will be used to provide feminine hygiene products to women in Clinton County that cannot easily afford those items needed each month.
Several gift cards and baskets have already been donated, but more are needed to make this benefit a success! If you or your business can provide a gift card or basket donation please call Amy at 814-979-6108.
There have been generous donations of passes to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park and Clyde Peelings Reptileland, a $100 gift certificate to Steel Studio Photography and other photographers have donated photo sessions, too. There have been about 25 baskets and gift cards donated so far. Please stop by to support this benefit!
ADVENT MUSIC
The Advent Church and Historical Museum located at 1303 Moose Run Road, Bellefonte, is hosting the last of three concerts, entitled Music at the Advent. The final music event for the year is being called Harvest Home and will be on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The day will be much like a fall festival with children's activities, craft items, homemade preserves and baked goods. The music will be provided by the Bellefonte Community Band and other local musicians. Help celebrate the autumn harvest season at The Advent and come learn about how folks in Holt's Hollow preserved food for the winter. Cider and donuts will be provided. Bring your lawn chairs for added comfort. You'll also get a chance to meet the performers and to visit the on-site museum. All events are free. COUNTRY JAM
Back Porch String Band will be having their monthly Country Jam at the Yearick Center (Howard Fire Hall) on Sunday, Sept. 24. Bring your instrument and strum along or just sit and enjoy the music. Bring a snack to share for the afternoon of toe-tapping, hand clapping tunes from 2-6 p.m. A donation basket is passed with the funds collected benefitting the Howard Fire Company.
CORN HOLE TOURNEY
Miles Township (Rebersburg) Fire Company is having a Corn Hole Tournament on Sept. 23. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. and bags fly at 11:30 a.m. Team cost is $50 to enter. Spectator's cover charge is $5. Top three winners in both the competitive and social brackets will be awarded. Food, drinks, raffles and music will be available.
