Castanea Twp. Halloween
Parade to be held Oct. 29
CASTANEA -- The Castanea Township Recreation Committee is planning the 3rd Annual Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m. on Brown Street.
The parade will proceed the length of Brown Street to McElhattan Avenue and end at the Castanea Fire Hall. Parade planners are seeking costumed individuals, couples and families, civic and youth groups, sport teams, decorated new or classic cars, hot rods, tractors and riding mowers, floats, bands and fire, police and emergency vehicles.
Walkers, bands and groups should expect to form at 3 p.m. on Brown Street near Solvay USA, Inc. The Train Station Restaurant at the corner of Brown Street and Logan Avenue will be selling funnel cakes during the parade.
Cash prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. However, those wishing to be judged must prominently display or carry an assigned number provided at the formation area.
Volunteers will assist those participating in the parade with getting their assigned numbers. While group pre-registration is helpful it is not required. Costumed walkers may simply show up and be assigned places.
