HUBLERSBURG -- This year, the Nittany Valley Amish Benefit Dinner will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, from noon until 7 p.m., at the Walker Township Fire Company, 125 Fire House Lane, in Hublersburg.
The traditional wedding style main course dinner offers many of the area's Amish favorites in an all-you-can-eat buffet style meal. Roasted chicken and cooked ham are the meats of the day, surrounded with many dishes of vegetables and noodles. Desserts are scrumptious, from fresh pies, fresh churned ice cream, cakes, vanilla pudding and a variety of the many delicious flavors of Nan's Donuts. Beverages include coffee, hot tea and fresh squeezed lemonade.
Select and make reservations for your dining hour from the seven time slots available from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. It should be noted that reservations for the dinner hours of 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. are usually filled early, so you may want to select another time slot for enjoying your meal.
Drive thru take-outs are also available, and walk-ins are welcome as long as there's seating room to accommodate.

The proceeds from this meal will go towards helping the young Amish families offset the costs associated with sending their children to the parochial schools in the Nittany Valley area. The Amish do not accept government aid for their schools, so this benefit dinner helps the families with school aged children.
The prices for the meal are $21 for adults age 18 and over; $19 for Seniors age 65 and over; $19 for children ages 11-17; $8 for children ages 5-10, and children age 4 and under are free.

Please note that this event will now only be held twice a year with events in March and September, with the next event being planned for a Saturday in March of 2024.
