LOCK HAVEN -- Ross Library is now fully reopened and the book sale was a complete success!
The main library room had been shut down due to water damage after the storm on Sept. 7. The damage is not fully repaired, but the room is still usable by the public. Preparations are being made to complete the repairs, but they will be scheduled at a later date.
Despite not being fully open, the library held its annual book sale last week, with proceeds going toward repairing the main room and replacing damaged books. Thanks to community support, the sale made double its usual income. A second sale is planned for the last week of March in 2024.
The library would like to thank Croda, Inc., the Lock Haven Kiwanis Club, the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven softball team and the many individual volunteers that have made the sale possible. Additionally, the library wishes to thank Schlesinger Communications (WSQV 92.1 & WVSQ 106.9, WBPZ 96.9, QWiK Rock 105.9, WBLF FM 106.3 & AM 970) for their sponsorship and support.
Books are still available on the library patio and in the tent for $5 per box. Educators and nonprofits are encouraged to take what they need for free.
