Breakfast buffet at Sugar Valley Fire Company
There will be a breakfast buffet at the Sugar Valley Fire Company on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. You can either dine in or take out. Take out orders can call ahead at (570) 725-3017. There will be pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, scrapple, bacon, sausage hashbrowns, desserts and drinks. The cost is $14 for adults and $7 for kids.

The Express community newspaper would like to feature local photos in our Old Photo Album each Saturday. If you have old photos of people, places or happenings that you'd like to share, please scan and email them to news@lockhaven.com along with your contact name/phone so we can obtain additional information from you about the photo. Or, stop by The Express office in Lock Haven with your old photos for us to scan and make some notes about the photos.
Public meeting
The Beech Creek-Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company is having a public meeting on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m., as an informational meeting and to discuss the fire company's funding. The fire company serves properties located in Beech Creek Borough and the townships of Beech Creek, Curtin and Liberty. Residents living in these municipalities should make plans to attend the meeting that will be held in the fire station at 38 Locust St., Beech Creek.
