Three Town Hall meetings will be held this month regarding three seats on the Keystone Central School Board that are on the ballot Nov. 7.
In total there are nine school board directors, each elected for a four-year term. The regions are staggered; every two years five seats are up for election and two years later, four seats are open.
This year three of the five open KCSD school board positions have two candidates running in each race: Region 1 representing Loganton Borough and Greene, Logan and Porter Townships; Region 6 representing Allison Township, and Lock Haven Wards 2 and 3; and Region 8 representing Flemington Borough and Castanea and Bald Eagle Townships.
The Region 6 candidate meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Willis Health Professions Center, Room 105, at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven, 432 Railroad St., Lock Haven. Region 6 candidates that were invited are Democrat David Dietrich and Republican William Baldino.
The Region 1 Town Hall meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School's multipurpose room, 236 E. Main St., Loganton. Region 1 candidates that were invited are Democrat Mary Ann Clark and Republican Chris Scaff.
Region 8's Town Hall will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Central Mountain Middle School Cafeteria, 200 Ben Ave., Mill Hall. Region 8 candidates invited were Republican Tom Cannon and Democrat Rick Schulze.
Doors open each night at 6 p.m. with community Q&As to take place between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Questions can be submitted online to kcsdtownhall2023@gmail.com until Thursday, Oct. 12, or attend a Town Hall meeting and submit your question in person.
