Christmas Tree Lighting
The Castanea Township Recreation Committee invites the public to the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. at the corner of Jarrett Avenue and Brown Street in Castanea. The free event will feature Santa, Mrs. Claus, Snowman, Elves, Central Mountain High School Band, songs by Kim Vance, free popcorn and candy canes for children and free hot chocolate. The Recreation Committee will offer commemorative Castanea tree ornaments for sale. The event is co-sponsored by the township supervisors and the Castanea Fire Company.
WinterFest
The second-annual WinterFest event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 3-6 p.m. in the center of town on Main Street in Loganton. Experience the holiday magic with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live reindeer, festive music, horse-drawn sleigh or wagon rides, town Christmas lights, tree lighting ceremony, crafts, homemade soups, cookies, hot cocoa, hot dogs, popcorn, etc. This celebration is entirely free and open to the public.
