LOCK HAVEN -- Good news. "Boot Saturdays" at the Shoe Bank are coming soon!
All eligible families can bring their kids and teens to get a free new pair of boots in November. The Boot Room is more than ready for them!
It's well stocked with variety. Girls will find colorful styles in a number of sizes, and fashion boots are available in many teen sizes. The shelves for boys and young men include such styles as camo boots, work boots, and more... most everyone should find a pair that fits.
Saturday, Nov. 11, is just for boots. This special date is for families who have visited the Shoe Bank in August, September or October and aren't yet eligible for new shoes.
Saturday, Nov. 18, is when kids and youth can get free new boots and shoes. This date is for families who haven't visited recently, as well as new families who have never been to the Shoe Bank before.
The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church at 44 W. Main St., and gives free new footwear for tiny feet all the way through big teen sizes, plus socks, books and a little treat. Boots are available in season in nearly every size.
Children and teens up to age 18 or in high school are eligible if the family has Compass and if they live anywhere in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School area. Schools and social agencies may refer families who need the service but don't have Compass.
Appointments are required, as always. For your time slot, text or call Diahann at 814-571-5324 any weekday evening from 7-9 p.m. She will get back to you as she starts building the schedule.
Please call or text her to reschedule if you cannot make it. You may even call on the day of your appointment, as she keeps a waiting list.
