Historical society to showcase
history with 'Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign' on Nov. 12
LOCK HAVEN -- "Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign" is the program that will be presented by Joby Topper at the Poorman Gallery on Water Street on Nov. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The names on street signs and buildings can tell a lot about local history, if you are willing to pause, take notice and do a bit of research. Topper will refer to signs in and near Lock Haven to demonstrate how much they can tell us about the history of Clinton County and its people.
This free program is sponsored by the Clinton County Historical Society, whose mission is to collect, preserve and share the history of our community.

Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group to meet Nov. 14
LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group will meet Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The meeting place has convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.
The discussion topic will be "Coping with the Holidays." The upcoming holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas can be overwhelming to everyone but especially to that experiencing memory loss. The group will talk about ways to keep celebrations simple and enjoyable while easing the burden of caregiving at the same time.
The Alzheimer's Support Group is free and allows families time to share common
issues and concerns. Sitter service can be provided to the person with dementia at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
