LOCK HAVEN -- The Alzheimer's and Caregivers' Support Group will meet Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 7-8 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The meeting place has convenient parking next to the church and a handicapped accessible entrance.
The discussion topic will be "Coping with the Holidays." The upcoming holidays can be overwhelming to everyone but especially to those experiencing memory loss. The group will talk about ways to keep celebrations simple and enjoyable while easing the burden of caregiving at the same time
The Alzheimer's Support Group is free and allows families time to share common issues and concerns. Sitter service can be provided to the person with dementia at the church while caregivers are attending the meeting. Prior arrangements must be made for this service.
