Nittany Valley Writers Network will host an open reading night for all levels of writers at 6:30 p.m. in Schlow Library's Community Room, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Attendees can bring a short writing sample to share or just sit and listen.
Community Christmas Party in Porter Township, 6-8 p.m., with music by The Bradford Family at the Porter Township Community Building, 216 Spring Run Road, Lamar, the former Porter Township Elementary School. Along with lots of special music there will be a Holiday Trivia with prizes, and lots of free Christmas refreshments.

St. Paul's Food Bank will have its Holiday Distribution at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6220 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall. The distribution runs from 9-11 a.m.
